[The Magic Sugarcube] The Premonitions: una macchina garage rock da singoli killer

GoingUnderground.it collabora, da diverso tempo, con The Magic Sugarcube, programma musicale di Contatto Radio in onda ogni giovedì sera alle 21. “Give Back What you Take” dei californiani The Premonitions farà parte della playlist dell'episodio in onda il primo luglio.

Nel 2019 e 2020 i losangelini The Premonitions hanno tirato fuori un singolo dietro l'altro: non si sono mai fermati, fino a diventare una delle realtà garage rock statunitensi più incendiarie. Retromaniaci - senza mai essere ridicoli (come spesso succede) - con la capacità di scrivere pezzi killer: melodie distorte e un groove anni sessanta, quasi sempre, maledettamente primitivo. Si senta la cassetta/raccolta di registrazioni live "A Night with The Premonitions": una bomba sonora con tanto di copertina romeriana. Grezza, esplosiva come un film di serie B (un Fulci o un Romero) proiettato in una grindhouse americana. C'è di più, però: la band ha anche fatto concerti in Spagna e pubblicato due 45 giri per la spagnola Bickerton Records "My Love Ain't a Lie/That's Voodoo" e "She Took my Heart and Soul/The Whiskey Shake". Ad agosto 2021 dovrebbe uscire un nuovo sette pollici dei Premonitions per la Hypnotic Bridge. E, prima o poi, si spera arrivi anche l'album di debutto.

In 2019 and 2020 the L.A-band the Premonitions released a lot of singles, and they never stopped until they became one of the most passionate American garage rock bands. They managed to be retromaniacs without being ridiculous (as it often happens), and they write killer-tracks: distorted melodies and with sixties groove that is almost always primordial. The cassette/collection of live recordings “A Night with The Premonitions” is a real sound explosion, and comes with a Romerian cover. It is raw and explosive like a B-movie (by Fulci or Romero) projected in an American grindhouse. And there’s even more: the band has been touring in Spain and has released two singles for the Spanish Bickerton Records “My Love Ain’t a Lie/That’s voodoo” and “She Took my Heart and Soul/The Whiskey Shake” . In August 2021 a new single should come out for Hypnotic Bridge. And let’s hope that a debut album will be released soon.
